Webbof IC 2497 has the X-ray spectrum typical of a highly-obscured CT AGN with nuclear N H ∼ 2 × 1024 cm−2, and current intrinsic luminosity L bol ∼ 2–5 × 1044 erg s−1, a factor of ~50 lower than implied by the optical emission line properties of the Hanny’s Voorwerp (HV).
